What are you raising money for?

December 16th, 2024 was the darkest day in my life. on that day i was in my small farm when i got a call that our house is on fire and before i could reach the house everything got burnt down. no single rag or pin was picked. I am a poor family man of a wife and six children. I am traumatized, doomed and devastated as we do not have any means of renovating the house as we are homeless today. I am hereby humbly on my kneels begging for your kind assistance on humanitarian ground to enable me renovate the house. Why are you raising the funds?

I am raising fund to rebuild my house that has been completely destroyed by fire disaster. We are a family of eight {8} and you know as the fire destroyed our house with all the property inside, every single thing you know as house item got burnt. The chairs, television sets, (3) three beds, all the kitchens utensils, (2) two deep refrigilators, all our clothes, every single thing not mentioned got burnt. We are poor family, only surviving based on the little farm we do. Even the day the house got burnt I was in the farm. You know that fire damaged restoration is more than a recovery process. The structural integrity of the damaged house is highly compromised putting us at a very high risk. This house was completely destroyed, burnt down by fire. We have conducted a through assessment of the whole damaged involving Carpenter, Electrician with AEDC (Abuja Electricity Distribution Company) officials, Plumber, Tiler, POP person as well as brick layer assessing structural harm, affecting both exterior and interior. The fire compromise the entire structure including critical system such as plumbing, electrical and HVAC. The foundational integrity is not compromised so we have chosen the option of restoring the existing structure to its pre lost condition. The purpose is to bring the building back to life considering the existing structure.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

Significantly, the most important basic need of human beings is shelter. The fund raised will be able to solve the problem of restoring the building to its unique character meanwhile providing us with shelter that we are lacking now as a result of the fire disaster. This is a large fire incident which has caused very extensive damage including the sewage system. So this will enable the structural repair, new wiring of electrical, outlets, breakers boxes and other electrical fixtures will be fixed, this brings about restoration of our house and peace of mind. You know that the fire damage has left us with overwhelming sense of devastation, uncertainty and daunting task of rebuilding. Building back is an approach to post disaster recovery that reduces vulnerability to future disaster. The fund can be used to rebuild our house and restore our lives. With the rising cost construction materials and the complexities of starting new this will be a path way for us to recover from the fire disaster devastation. The greater impact the fund will have on us can be overemphasized, as it will help us to rebuild, have our house back to us for our accommodation as the fund raised will go toward purchasing materials including labour cost and addressing other necessary expenses like Soakaway to complete the rebuilding project.
