What are you raising money for?

. Rehabilitate 50 youths who are into drugs and substance abuse within a year through training on the dangers of drugs and substance abuse. Providing psychosocial support for the youths to enable them have a right mindset and reintegrate properly into the community. • Empower 50 youths with entrepreneurial skills within a year after rehabilitation. This will be done by enrolling them into skills acquisition centres to acquire vocational skill and building their capacity on entrepreneurship. • Support 50 youth with startup packs at the end of the trainings to enable them start up businesses in their various line of interest. • Train the youth in waste management and recycling and to encourage them to build businesses around waste management.

Why are you raising the funds?

The level of insecurity in Jos and Bukuru metropolis is very high due to crimes and vices such as theft, kidnapping for ransom, ritual killings, rape etc. A research conducted in 2021 give the following statistics: drug abuse was 22.7%, cultism was 16.7%, Kidnapping 0.6%, Burglary 11.9%, murder 11.5%, assault 11.4% (Archicultur, vol.4 (1) 2021.) This figure has increased in the last few years. The campaign is aimed at raising funds to rehabilitate youths that are into drugs and substance abuse due to frustration resulting from unemployment and economic hardship. The high level of unemployment in Nigeria has made even educated youths redundant. Consequently, frustrated youths turn to drugs which make them prone to crimes and vices. Supporting them to acquire skills that can help them engage in economic activities that can enable them live descent lives will get them off the streets. This will result in more secured communities for everyone.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

1. Relate with community leaders to location of addicts hide outs and jungles. - ?100,000.00 2. A 2 days lecture for 50 youths on dangers of drug and substance abuse.- ?300,000 (feeding, hall, facilitator) 3. 1 day motivational talks to encourage and give youths hope for a brighter future in life.- ?200,000 (feeding, hall, facilitator) 4. Carry out counselling and follow up sessions to the youths monthly for 6 months. ?300,000.00 (transportation and refreshment) 5. Link 2 youths to rehabilitation centres where necessary and if willing.- ?200,000.00 ( medication) 6. Do a business profile of youths 7.
