What are you raising money for?

I am raising money to get orthodontic braces so I can correct my teeth alignment, regain my confidence, and continue my journey as a student nurse without fear or shame. The cost of braces is far beyond what I can afford as a student, and it has become a major barrier to my academic progress and future career. I am a student nurse whose dream is to care for people with compassion and confidence. But a painful experience with a patient and years of insecurity about my teeth have held me back. I need help getting braces so I can speak, smile, and carry out my clinical duties without fear. Please help me fix my smile and continue the nursing journey I truly love.

Why are you raising the funds?

Hi, I am a student nurse. Becoming a nurse has always been my dream I want to care for people, comfort them, and make them feel safe. But something as simple as my teeth has become a heavy burden. During one of my clinical postings, I had an experience that broke me. I walked up to a patient to check their vitals, and before I even touched the equipment, the patient looked at me and said they didn’t want me attending to them. When I asked why, the patient said that my teeth didn’t look healthy,and they were scared it could “carry an infection” or be transferred to them. Even though I knew that wasn’t medically true, I felt my heart sink.Other patients and some of my colleagues were right there, and I felt all eyes on me. I tried to smile it off, but inside I was shaking. I went to the nurses room and cried quietly because it felt like something I had no control over had just destroyed my confidence. I always feel like people are judging me, laughing at me, or seeing only my teeth instead of the person I am. It has affected me, my confidence, and even my dream of becoming a nurse who can speak boldly, educate patients, and advocate for them. I need braces, not for beauty, but for my future my career, my confidence, and my mental well-being. Please help me fix what has held me back for years. Your donation mean alot to me.
