What are you raising money for?

My name is Ademola Shile Waheed, and I am the father of Baby Simi, my precious 7-month-old daughter who is fighting for her life right now. Simi was born with a serious heart defect called Complete Atrioventricular Canal Defect (CAVC). Every day is a struggle for her tiny heart to keep going. She is currently on oxygen support at The Lumi Children’s Hospital, Abuja, but doctors have told us the only way she can survive is through urgent open-heart surgery and it must happen within the next week. The cost of the surgery is a staggering N18 million. We have managed to raise N6.2 million so far, but we are still desperate and urgently need N12 million to save her life. As her father, I am heartbroken, scared, and overwhelmed, but I refuse to give up on my baby. Today, I humbly ask for your help. Why are you raising the funds?

Simi’s medical condition is extremely critical. She suffers from a severe congenital heart defect that has caused her heart to struggle to pump blood effectively. Without immediate open-heart surgery, her heart will continue to weaken, and her chances of survival will dramatically decrease. Her family has worked tirelessly to raise N6.2 million, but the total cost of the surgery and related care is N18 million. This leaves a daunting gap of N12 million that must be raised urgently to proceed with the life-saving procedure. Unfortunately, her family alone cannot cover this huge amount, especially on such short notice. We are raising these funds to ensure Simi receives the urgent medical care she desperately needs to survive and have a chance at a healthy life.

What will the funds raised help achieve?
