What are you raising money for?

I am raising this money to help me secure a safe and peaceful place to live, away from an abusive marriage. For years, I have endured emotional and psychological abuse that has taken a heavy toll on my well-being. After much thought, prayer, and courage, I have decided to take a bold step toward freedom and healing. To do this, I need financial help to get a modest apartment, basic furniture, and essential living items that will allow me to start life afresh in safety and dignity. The funds raised will cover my rent, apartment deposit, transportation for moving my few belongings, and some essential household items like a mattress, cooking utensils, and food supplies for the first few weeks. I have carefully calculated my needs and I’m seeking enough to help me relocate and settle down without fear or dependence. This campaign represents more than just a financial goal ,it is my lifeline to independence, safety, and healing. Every contribution will go directly toward creating a safe home where I can rebuild my strength, restart my business, and live free from fear. I am not asking for luxury, just a small chance to stand on my feet again and rebuild the life I lost.

Why are you raising the funds?

I am raising this money because I have reached a point in my life where staying in my marriage has become unsafe for me emotionally and mentally. The relationship has been filled with pain, control, and manipulation that have left me broken and afraid. I have tried for years to make it work, hoping things would change, but they never did. I have finally realized that to heal, I must leave and start again ,but doing so without financial help is nearly impossible. As a woman in Nigeria, leaving an abusive marriage can be extremely difficult. Many women are advised to “endure,” even when their lives are at risk. I have chosen not to endure anymore. I want peace, safety, and a fresh start. I have no one who can support me financially right now, and the only thing standing between me and my freedom is the cost of relocation and a safe apartment. I am not ashamed to ask for help because this is about survival and rebuilding my life with dignity. Every donation, big or small, will help me take one step closer to safety and freedom.
