What are you raising money for?

Zoe had a myomectomy in June, 2024. Within weeks, Zoe started hemorrhaging and it was discovered that the uterine fibroids had returned, and grown exponentially with more aggressive symptoms. All efforts to improve her symptoms have proved abortive. She has expended considerable resources on endless medications , sanitary products, and specialized diet. Her doctor has recommended an emergency hysterectomy because she has bled so much that her other organs are getting starved of adequate blood flow and she is at extreme risk of organ failure. She used to weigh 76kg and as a result she is currently weighing 50kg and her skin is pale. This surgery is urgent to save Zoe’s life. We appreciate your support.

Why are you raising the funds?

I’m Zoe’s Employer and Mentor and one of the only family she can rely on. Both her parents are late. I have been supporting her throughout this process and I need hands to join me to push this goal of saving Zoe’s life to the finish line. Zoe is an amazing soul. You can never catch her not smiling. She will always show up for her responsibilities even on a surgery recovery bed, Zoe will still be actively involved. She has so much potential and so much to offer the world. She’s intelligent, driven, and one of the strongest and most sacrificial people I know.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

The funds we’re looking to raise will 100% be directed to Zoe’s surgery and recovery. The surgery is a hysterectomy which, essentially, is the removal of her uterus to prevent hemorrhaging and further growth or return of the uterine fibroids. This will cost around N1.2M. There’s also some after care costs for her convalescent status post surgery. Her medical report will detail what she needs. The doctor has also advised making provisions for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances such as additional pints of blood, etc so we hope the overflow of around N300K will cover that. After surgery and getting discharged, she’ll also need medications and other essentials. The proposed sum will cover everything she needs for her surgery and recovery.
