Increased security and peace in Jos/ Bukuru metropolis....
The Street Store is a global charity event that relies on volunteers and crowdsourced donations of non- perishable food and “in-good-condition” items (clothing, shoes, books, school shoes, and bags, household items, mattress, blankets, etc.) for all ages, genders, and sizes.
The idea is for these donated items to be displayed in a charity- shopping pop-up store style for the beneficiaries to take what they need for free. It started in South Africa in 2007 and has since been hosted in 78 countries around the world!
The Nigerian team is made up of a six-member volunteer team who applied to get a franchise license to Nigeria and since 2017, we have hosted three different events for three different beneficiary communities and we seek to host the fourth edition on Saturday the 21 of December 2019 in Lagos, Nigerian from 9:00- 12:00 in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The overall budget for this event is N16,737,300 (sixteen million, seven hundred and thirty-seven thousand and three hundred Naira only. We are starting with the donate-ng maximum goal of five million but will edit this goal as soon as we are closer to the N5,000,000 mark.
The upcoming event is for the Chibok community who have fled insecurity and humanitarian crisis in north-eastern Nigeria and are seeking ways to rebuild their lives. This community has a total estimated population of 1,000 persons. Currently, this community live under inhumane and circumstances and are given sleeping spaces in a community church in Itado, Lekki. It is our intention that this little effort will give many of them hope and provide the opportunity for stability for this group.
Our overall budget for this event is 16,737,300 (sixteen million, seven hundred and thirty-seven thousand and three hundred Naira) for a one thousand person community. This budget covers the cost of purchasing non-perishable food items, blankets, mattresses as well as includes an administrative cost of N280,000. The administrative cost covers event security, transportation, and data of journalists and photographers to cover the event. Please note that all sponsors of the event are invited to the occasion to meet their donation beneficiaries as well as publicize the event as their CSR project for the month of October 2019.
You can buy a family(ies) currently sleeping on the floor of a church, mattress(es), 50kg bag of rice, toiletries, spaghetti, cartons of indomie, cartons of milk, milo, baby food, etc. whatever you can afford to give, is fine, little drops make an ocean.
Thank you in advance!
