Increased security and peace in Jos/ Bukuru metropolis....
The 2022 ASADS TOUR of this event will have us reaching out to over 2000 persons and would take place physically in Lagos. The following topics will be treated by our professionals, therapist, mental health first aiders assisted by our volunteers. • Caring for our mental health. • Why mental health matters. • Bullying. The importance of this tour is that it will serves as an effective forum to sensitize people that are not online, educate them, giving them self-help tips as well as educating people in secondary school, tertiary institutions and religious institutions so that they can know more about mental health because there is such stigmatization on mental health. As you can see in most instances most of the activities of mental health organizations are done online programs so that people can be informed but they are still many people who don't know anything about mental health and they can't relate. We want to see how we can take mental health to people and making them a mental health advocate in their different communities.
Through the ASADS tour, we’ve been able to improve the development of communities. This program has been able to improve the productivity of people of this community thereby leading to community development. People who did not find the motivation to work found the motivation to work because we were able to address the problems they faced. The ASADS tour is all about. 1. Answering questions from the people about issues bothering them, 2. Educating people in the community about mental health, 3. Listening to the members of the communities. 4. Having 1 on 1 conversation with the people of the community, 5. Clearing up the air on false information on mental health, 6. Helping them with solutions to their problem
The importance of mental health cannot be overemphasized. It affects us in different ways, it affects our daily routines, it affects the way we socialize, and our perception of life. It affects our ability to cope, adapt, and solve problems. It also affects our ability to be happy, productive, and well-adjusted. It is not a topic one should look over. With that said, the ASADS tour is a program with the motive of going into communities that do not know about mental health, communities that have overlooked mental health, or communities that do not see the importance of taking care of themselves mentally. The aim and what ASADS TOUR wants to achieve is reducing depression, suicide, and mental health issues in Nigeria. Reaching out to as many people as possible through various awareness campaigns and mechanisms, training, and workshops to help increase the knowledge on depression, suicide, and mental health, encourage and assist people to seek help and support, and reduce the stigma. OUR INTERESTS 1. Mental health awareness 2. Mental health wellness 3. Mental health therapy 4. Suicide and depression prevention
