The Didi Project
by Cells Of a Generation
The Didi Project seeks to educate people on the management, prevention and stigmatisation of sickle-cell disorder.
A registered charity (CAC:131936) based in Abuja, Nigeria with a vision to prepare every child and young adult for healthy, long, fulfilling lives while living with sickle-cell disorder (SCD). SCD is a chronic blood condition that affects the haemoglobin in red blood cells. SCD patients, affectionately called 'Warriors', have chronic pain that can potentially be fatal amongst other complications if not cared for. In Nigeria, an estimated 150,000 children are born with SCD every year. Many Warriors are not given adequate information about their health condition to help them live fulfilling lives. Help us spread awareness and end the burden of SCD for good!
