CFA Society Nigeria and Fund Managers Association of Nigeria (FMAN) are organising a 5KM Run/Walk to draw attention towards financial literacy and gender diversity in the investment industry in Nigeria.
This event is also being used as an opportunity to raise money for the Slum2School Social Development movement and Junior Achievement Nigeria.
Slum2school is a volunteer-driven social development organization whose vision is to transform the society by empowering disadvantaged children to realize their full potential through the provision of educational scholarships, health support and other psycho-social support.
Founded in 2012, Slum2School Africa has already won over 15 national and international awards for its innovation in community development, leadership, youth drive and social impact. They have already attracted over 5000 Volunteers from 12 countries who have actively contributed physically and virtually to the vision of the organisational. Slum2School Africa has also provided educational scholarships and support to 650 disadvantaged children from various slums and remote communities like Emina, Saga Islands, Okuagbo and Makoko all in Lagos State, Nigeria.
JAN is part of the world’s largest network of organisations dedicated to empowering students on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship through experiential, hands-on programs. Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) is part of Junior Achievement Worldwide, the world’s oldest and largest non-profit economic education organization operating in 120 countries.
Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) delivers practical, experiential hands-on programs under the three pillars of financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship to young people between the ages of 5 and 27. In addition to its own original, home-grown programs designed to meet the unique needs of Nigerian youth, JAN also has access to hundreds of JA programs and initiatives tried and tested in several countries around the world facing the same issues of developing youth that can compete globally in the 21st Century and beyond.
