Increased security and peace in Jos/ Bukuru metropolis....
On the twenty-third of October, 2017, Mr and Mrs Anthony and Bridget Chuckwuemeka welcomed their daughter, Chidinma to the world.
Chidinma’s birth was, however, greeted with mixed feelings as she was born with a congenital deformity on her right leg.
This condition meant, for Chidinma to be able to walk, she would have to go through the process of amputation, after which she would then be able to make use of a prosthetic limb for her mobility.
Mr. & Mrs Chukwuemeka, having no prior knowledge or information about this ‘condition’ struggled to make the best decision for Chidinma until 2019 when they were referred to the foundation.
On the twenty-first of January, 2019, Mr. & Mrs Chukwuma came to the foundation with Chidinma and on leaving later that day, they were more knowledgeable and also had found the primary thing they really sought ”support”, after which they were scheduled to meet the foundation’s orthopaedic consultant.
They now knew what the next steps would be and what decisions they would be making; even though we always still advice parents to take time to process the information before coming to a final decision.
The possibilities of a bright and fulfilled future for Childinma that we opened them up to see by sharing our beneficiaries’ stories lit their faces us and they were equally pleased to know that, the burden of procurement and management of Chidinma’s prosthetic limb would be lifted off them until Chidinma is aged 18.
Her amputation procedure was done on the twelfth of March, 2019 and she is now in the healing and physiotherapy phase.
With your help, Chidinma would be walking again in no time. Please be part of Chidinma’s story by making a donation to the foundation. Your kind donation would help Chidinma live her best life with the aid of a prosthetic limb.
Thank you.
