Food Angels

This Christmas many families will go without food due to poverty in Nigeria! More so with the pandemic in 2020, more families have lost their livelihoods and are struggling. In the UK a lot of people will be sleeping on the streets over the cold winter with no money, food or warm blankets

Food Angels seeks to alleviate these in its own little way. Food Angels was started by a group of praying ladies four years ago. In this time they have reached about 450 families providing Christmas Hampers of non perishable foods offering Christmas meals for the family. A typical hamper would contain rice, beans, oil, baked beans, plum tomatoes, tinned fruit, pepper, onions, pasta, cereals, Maggi cubes, tea bags, powdered milk, biscuits, sugar, salt, tinned fish, corned beef, tomato ketchup, frozen chicken, etc (content will depend on location). Volunteers then deliver the hampers across London to people’s doorsteps. In Nigeria, there will be a distribution centres which will be managed effectively to reach those in genuine need at this time of year.

In 2019, the teenagers within the Food Angels team provided blankets, sleeping bags and food packs to the homeless around London

In addition to feeding the hungry the Food Angels also pray for and with families when requested.
