What are you raising money for?

FIGURE WORKSPACE AND BOOKSPACE, ILE-IFE is starting our Free Holiday Coaching for graduating Secondary school students by next month, July 2025. Primarily, this free coaching will seek to prepare students for their Secondary school certificate examinations for free, and help them through their registration processes for university entrance. We believe this primary goal will serve the community we are trying to mobilize for social change while showing an example of why our society should make education free. This will help to support the exemplary evidence that the resources available in our society is enough to make education free for all.

Why are you raising the funds?

The goal of this free coaching is to make a prefigurative example of what education should look like in a revolutionary society, by engaging volunteers who are university student activists with a passion for teaching as tutors, and alongside this tutors, co-creative a curriculum that helps them pass their exams but goes beyond that. This curriculum will be taught creatively and engagingly in a way that eliminates the teacher vs student hierarchy dynamics and in a way that includes political thought in all of the 10 subjects being taught. We are raising this fund so as to get all the necessary amenities needed to make this project a success.

What will the funds raised help achieve?

This free coaching will help to mentor young people who are interested in activism as they grow into university students who can lead campus activism in whichever tertiary institutions they get admitted to. This will help to build sustainable campus activism in more schools across the country, as is the goal of the FIGURE WORKSPACE AND BOOKSPACE. There is also an extra impact that the coaching will be live-streamed on TikTok throughout for young people who cannot be physically at the coaching venue. This will help to widen the impact of the free coaching beyond the 100 students earlier mentioned.
