This initiative will develop crucial online safety curricula and educational resources for schools, parents and educators. Funds will support: • Sensitization workshops and trainings on safety platforms and apps for risk management. • Advocacy for robust child protection policies and regulations. • Holding tech companies accountable for online safety. • Establishing online safety helplines for victims of online harm. • Carry out research that reveal and unveil local solutions on how best to handle the challenge of online sexual abuse and exploitation by predators posing as children on the internet, and targeting children when they use the internet to learn, communicate and socialize.
We are urgently raising awareness and funds to combat the escalating crisis of online abuse and exploitations targeting children in Nigeria. And how best we can curb this menace as emerging crimes and how we can bring this to fore before Nigerians, that online violations of children are ongoing at alarming rate. The alarming rise in incidents including abduction and rape, trafficking and even murdering, with clear links to online interactions, demand immediate action. These are not isolated cases; we witness the devastating consequences firsthand. To protect our vulnerable children, we must act now. And we are requesting that you could act now please. Your contribution can save a child from falling prey. Children need to be protected and that's why your contribution now is very crucial.
